We had a late afternoon lunch.Had a beautiful view from inside seating.Food is not extra ordinary. It certainly is pricey. White fish - the most popular item in the island was not available! Ended up in the same place for dinner this time seated over looking the bar. It was 12 am and this seemed to be the only decent place to dine in downtown (Mackinac island, MI). The chicken quesadilla (with coke and french fries) was atrocious. I was in love with it. Food is good but not worth the money that you pay. Considering that even a pizza (a piece) is $10 in the island, you better choose Pink pony for a decent lunch and dinner, rather than sitting at a crowded fast food place/pizzeria.

Great list custom drinks, try the homemade bloody mary mix! Prices are competitive, particularly for a tourist town. Specialty drinks are in the $10 range, beer pints about $5 or so. They have a very diverse and satisfying menu. There is plenty of indoor seating, bar space, and an outdoor patio. Weekend evenings they have acoustic entertainment that sits right up on the bar. The pink pony is a very fun place!

This is always the first stop when we finish the Race. Until 2 Years ago I had never eaten here because it's the bar you traditionally drink at. I had the pleasure of spending a week on the Island after the Race for a wedding and was able to enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet before hopping the Ferry back to reality. Live music on the super small stage behind the Bar and an amazingly attentive Bar/Wait staff for the crowds that pile in here. Well worth the stop in to take in an institution on the Island, it has been the place of many a Victory celebration by tired sailors over the years after completing both the Chicago and Bayview to Mac Island race.

Great place to visit. Saw this on the Mackinac Bar Crawl (tee-shirts can be purchased at souvenir shop), so we checked it out the day before the bar crawl. It has a great atmosphere, it is restaurant/bar like most places on the island, prices were very good. Got chips and salsa it was very fresh. The beer choice made my eyes bulge out! So many, got a good local brew. When we went here after hours for the bar crawl, there was live music right above the bar! It was very good, and I would defiantly recommend this place!

I think the pink pony was a 4 for the great location overlooking the water...the patio is amazing. Overpriced drinks which was expected but stronger than I thought they would be. The servers weren't too impressive and all looked to be hungover...but it is an island in the summer so I'm sure they were :). He neglected to giving us a menu or ever offering one. Had the white fish dip and calamari appetizers which were both good. Wish I could have stayed at night, I heard there is great live music.

In the past I have really enjoyed the outside seating of this bar, but I had a very bad experience over Memorial Day wknd. It was of course quite busy and understandable there was a wait for a table. There was no one to greet us at the hostess stand so when we saw a couple get up from their table near the bar (first come first serve seating), we sat down. After at least a 20 minute wait the server came over and actually scolded us for sitting down, telling us instead it was proper etiquette to stand NEAR the table (for 20 mins?!?!) until they wipe it down. He was incredibly rude and said that's how we should behave in all bars- not just that one- as it's common courtesy to the servers. I am 32 years old and don't need a lecture on how to sit at a bar! I was so offended but said nothing as he wiped down the table then walked away. Another 20 mins went by and we never saw him again!! I usually look forward to this bar but I would never go back there again due to this servers attitude.

We stopped here for a beer before turning in for the night after getting a rec from a former local. Super cheap beers, live music and an even livelier crowd. Pretty hilarious actually! Ran into a bachelorette party which is always interesting. They had some infused vodkas behind the bar but there was some confusion over what fruit was inside and I couldn't tell either. Young and old alike were dancing, getting down and partying here like it was 1999. Maybe 1989... You have to walk next door into the fairly dated and a little weird Chippewa Hotel lobby to use the restroom and there are some downright bizarre antiques and artifacts in the cases that are worth a look/pic.

This is an awesome bar with very nice and elegant formal dining options and very good food served, especially the calamari for appetizers. Mojitos are also excellent as well as their full and very extensive beer selection. Old fashioned place, been in business forever, and from the interior style hasn't completely gone over to the tourists yet. Altogether awesome to visit.

Not bad prices. No access to waterfront from bar area. Have to go thru restaurant. Can't go outside due to rain and 46 degree Weather

Very good food. I got the ribs and they were so tender I only used a fork to eat them. We sat on the hotel side which was much more pleasant than the bar side. Wish they separated the two better as the music coming from both sides clashed quite a bit.

Had lunch here with my husband and 14 month old baby. There were many families eating at the time. I found the food to be rather average, nothing spectacular especially for the price. (I liked the food at Millie's across the street better). The service was good and the view is excellent. This is probably a better place to just drink so you can relax and enjoy the view.

This place has a great outdoor patio and reasonable drinks. I got there a little late and the service was bad but after I approached another waitress she started serving us promptly. My only other disappointment was that they ran out of Miller lite before the night was over. They have a great atmosphere, mostly good music (lightning crashes is a bit of a buzzkiller - but we move on) and last, but not least, fantastic chili cheese fries. Inside they had another bar, a live band, and a decent crowd. When you come in this is the first thing you see, and if you don't know better you may never find the patio - so be sure to keep walking. I'm relieved to have found a decent bar on the Island. And even happier it's on the water with great views.

Mediocre but cheap diner type food. Service was excellent. One of the cheaper places on the island to eat. Family friendly. Expect a long wait for outside dining or large groups.

  • Megan T.

I have had better food. We ordered drinks and the app with the crackers and three different types of spreads and none of the spreads was to die for. The drink prices were very good and we had a excellent waitress. My salad needed more dressing and was just average. My husband liked their beer cheese soup and devoured it. The outdoor patio is great and it is covered so you can enjoy the harbor without sunburn after lunch. We went to nearly every place on the island and I like the bar atmosphere of the Pink Pony, but food I think there are better places to eat.

  • J G.

We both had whitefish sandwiches which were excellent. My wife liked the chips, for me just ok. Enjoyed the outdoor seating by the water.

For some reason this bar seems more Key West than Northern Michigan. Maybe it was the gallons of rum runners I watched them mix. Anyway, getting away from the hordes of children eating fudge on main street and just being able to sit on the patio and watch the ships come in is a nice treat.

We had drinks here one night and it was solid. MJackson had passed so they played his vids all night on some of the tv's which was very entertaining. The bartenders were the usual Mackinac college kids so they tended to sling drinks like we were at a frat party... Still fun. We had b'fast here too, or it was the other restaurant in the Chippewa Hotel. It was very good, it was definitely cooked well and I had no complaints at all except for being seated near the busboys who tended to stare at us because they were bored hehe.

  • Aaron S.

Very fun bar. Cool stage, it's behind the bar. The Pink Pony is probably the most popular bar on the island and fills up fast. We didn't eat. We sat at the bar right in front of the stage and drank.

The best fish tacos I have ever had...and I have had lots of fish tacos in my life time. Maybe try it with a small amount of hot sauce.

The food in this place was AMAZING!!! The drinks were AMAZING!!! The prices were about right for the quality in a tourist setting. We went in and had lunch and drinks. The waitress was super friendly. We went outside, walked half a block and decided to go back for happy hour. The drinks, again, were AMAZING. The bartender was kind of a jerk. Oh well, he was tipped accordingly. I highly recommend this place!

Oberon is good, food is marginal, and service is bad. We had received such good reviews from friends before going, it was extremely disappointing.

When I lived on the Island ages ago...this was the gay bar of the Island. If you were a girl and a guy was interested in you, he'd take you here thinking none of the other men would hit on you. If you go early enough, it was nice and quiet and a pretty cool place. Strictly for drinking, I would never eat here.

    (3)
  • Christina L.

Do NOT go to the Pony if you are looking to get some dinner... there are way better places to eat. However! For partying, it is DEFINITELY the best bar on the Island. The patio is great and serves a killer rum runner, they have homemade fruit-infused vodkas, there are drink specials during "freighter breaks" whenever (you guessed it) a freighter is passing through the straits, and Myk Rise plays great live music on his guitar most nights. You just can't beat the Pony for a good time. Don't miss the awesome Halloween party here either, fall is a great time to be on the Island!

  • James A.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Every time I go to the island we stay at the Chippewa, so this is the last bar we go to by default. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere but the last time I was there the bartender added an additional tip on my credit card slip. If you want to go to a bar on the end of Main St. and are going to pay cash, go to the PPB & G.

I was not expecting much here but it exceeded expectations. We went on a recommendation of the B&B manager and it was delicious! I definitely recommend the jerk pork tenderloin and the broiled whitefish (but ask for the sauce that goes with the breaded whitefish!) Also ask your hotel/B&B if they have free appetizer coupons--with 2 entrees you get a choice of calamari, bruschetta or smoked whitefish dip. They were all terrific, especially the calamari and the smoked whitefish dip. Great mojitos. Have a cocktail on the patio before moving inside for dinner (or stay and eat outside!) Service was mostly good, though I had to ask twice for an app plate/silverware before we finally just grabbed one from a neighboring table.

  • Dee T.

The patio is fun and has a good view of the marina and the straits. Food is totally just meh - the chicken that I ordered to top my salad had that weird, freeze-dried texture to it that I associate with island restaurant food (as in, they import the stuff rather than grow it themselves), which really just turned me off. The pink lemonade is nice on a warm day - add some liquor and it's even better!

  • Sarah S.

Keep in mind, my recent reviews come from the perspective of a neuvo vegetarian. The patio view is spectacular and the traditional margarita was good, albeit overly sweet. I'm rating this so low due to the fact that the only veggie option was a salad (& it had cheese so not vegan, if that's your thing). The portions were very small, leaving my party of four hungry following the meal. The wait staff does deserve an A+, however.

If you are looking for live music, an extensive array of local beers on tap and large sport screens the Pink Pony Bar is for you. But if you are looking for great food the sister restaurant out the side door is amazing. We are a half rack of ribs with lobster tail and it was a ton of food. Only order a full rack if you are a very hungry man. The ribs fell off the bone, were moist and very flavorful. I highly recommend.

Our family dined at the Pink Pony for breakfast today, the final morning of our vacation. We stayed at the Chippewa Hotel, so we arrived downstairs at 8:50am. We asked if we could sit out in the open-air area outside and the hostess told us they wouldn't be able to seat us until 9:00am. So we had to take the kids outside to walk around for 10 minutes. It would have been nice if they'd been willing to allow us to sit down and order coffee, even though we were a little bit early for the outside tables (the dining room was open). Despite our initial pleasure with the giant cinnamon roll, we were sorely disappointed with our meal and overall experience. The scrambled eggs were the same sheets of microwaved egg you would find on a McDonald's breakfast sandwich (but I don't want to slam McDonald's here, the actual scrambled eggs from McDonald's were far superior to these eggs). My oatmeal was too runny to enjoy. Like a lumpy oatmeal soup. The girls' yogurt parfaits were good, and the cinnamon roll to share was very good. But if you're looking for a good egg breakfast, go elsewhere.

One of our favorites on the island. The menu is pretty wide spread and there is generally something for everyone. Live music on some nights is a nice addition too. You can relax and enjoy good food and drink while listening to good music. The atmosphere is relaxed and this is a cross between a great bar and great restaurant. Just what you expect in a tourist area.

Good place for lunch on the lower patio. Attentive staff. The menu had some different items, like an apple Brie flatbread that was delicious. We also ordered the fish tacos which were also very good. Good location right on the water.

4th time a charm. Atmosphere & view really good but food in the years past has been so-so. Whitefish tacos overpowered by spicy sauce (which is good but not sure if there was any fish!) Chicken BLT very good as well. Bloody Mary w/ chaser beer always prepared well. Tip: seat yourself in patio (go to hostess stand in hotel)

My wife and stepped into the Pink Pony for lunch today and enjoyed a tasty lunch outside on the patio overlooking the harbor. The Asante age a Wrap was prepared well and my wife's Fish Tacos were very fresh and yummy. When it came time for dinner, we checked out several options on Main Street on Mackinac Island and decided to give Pink Pony another try for their dinner. Great choice! Everything was delicious, from the warm dinner rolls with whipped cinnamon butter to the sides like cole slaw. I enjoyed the most tender BBQ ribs I've encountered in a long time. The meat fell off the bones. My wife loved the prime rib. She even loved their Sangria. All this while enjoying the night air outside overlooking the harbor.

The decor of this place was so cute we had to stop for lunch. The host was a young man and was really sweet and kind and sat us as soon as we came in the door with a smile on his face. The server was okay, that's why I'm giving a 4 star. She was overwhelmed and had too many tables and had to ask the food runner for refills on drinks. She also seemed irritated when we were asking about items on the menu, trying to decide what to order. But the food made up for it!!! I had the spinach, artichoke, and bacon dip which is making my mouth water just thinking about it. For my entree I had the chicken burger and the avocado and cheese was a perfect touch to it. Can't wait to come back just for the food!!!

Good food and great service! First came with my family making a party of 12 but the waitress handled us including small children with ease and panache! Had the prime rib dip, which was filling. Hubby had the coconut shrimp which looked amazing. Went back later in the evening for a drink and enjoyed the craziness of boat race party with live music and the great local beer list. Drink local, friends! Try the Pink Pony ale.

It was nice to have a good meal and a beer after biking the island. The Pink Pony had ample seating, so even though it was a crowded day on the island, we did not have to wait for a seat. We ordered the gourmet onion rings with habanero honey BBQ sauce and Asian sriracha sauce. Both sauces were great, but I think I would have preferred the sauce on chicken tenders and ranch on the onion rings. I had the Thai Crunch salad which was very good, but $8.95 for a side and an additional $4.95 for chicken...so $13.90 for that tiny salad seemed pretty steep. We also ordered the whitefish tacos which were good and the honey roasted turkey sandwich that came with a huge pile of turkey. All in all, the food and the service was good, but it was an expensive lunch.

Had dinner here with the family. Was fantastic. Mother ordered the half ribs and I got the streak with the mushroom risotto. The ribs were tender and the steak and mushroom risotto was very delicious. Wish I had some now!

So delicious! Awesome craft beer selection! Fresh fish! Fresh everything. The bar tenders were SO friendly. The food came out very quickly. When you are hanging around Mackinac Island for the day, this is a great spot for lunch and a drink.

Please save your money. Still kicking myself for not listening to my husband and sister-in-law, who suggested we go to Millie's on Main for dinner. What gave this place its two stars is the atmosphere. Nice view of the harbor. We did get seated quickly and our server did a fine job. However, even in the context of generally overpriced Mackinac Island faire, I expected a lot more for the price. When the waitress brought our drinks out in plastic cups, I was in disbelief. We got two orders of the pretzel appetizers. For context, we had also ordered pretzel appetizers at Mary's Bistro earlier that day for lunch. The ones at Mary's were pretty good. Not the best I've ever had (try Grand River Brewery if you ever find yourself in downtown Jackson, Michigan), but a decent pretzel. The ones from Pink Pony were a solid disappointment. They were chewy and wrinkled and I suspected they were frozen and then microwaved. Served in a paper cone. Cheese was standard velveeta-ish dip, though the guys did like the other option (horseradish mix). Between the pretzel presentation and the plastic cups, I felt like I was eating drive-in food (and mediocre drive-in food at that). Might have been okay had they been drive-in prices. For dinner I had the coconut shrimp with grilled asparagus and piña colada rice. I have had better coconut shrimp at Red Lobster and Outback. Very bland, mango sauce was decent albeit a bit tangy for my taste. I got four thin stalks of asparagus. Rice was "meh." I would not eat here again. Too many better options with better prices.

There are several places to choose from on Mackinac Island but we opted for The Pink Pony because it has outdoor seating on the water. We sat in the upper covered porch area and were perfectly comfortable even though it was a warmer day than we had expected (upper 80s). I had the Cherry Chicken Salad sandwich which tasted freshly made and the cherries add a nice flavor to a tried and true summer staple. Hubby and friend had the fish tacos and the steak tacos which they split. Both enjoyed them as well. Overall, a nice experience and fairly reasonable prices for the island. Service was fast and friendly but we were never made to feel rushed.

  • Joanna S.

Sit on the upper deck if you can. Great views. Waitress was great. Beer was local Michigan and good. My Cherry Chicken Salad sandwich was so good. Husband had fish tacos that he said were amazing. Lunch starts at 1130am. Get there just before during season. Otherwise, you'll be waiting in a long line.

Had the smoked whitefish dip and the Thai Crunch Salad. My friend had the house side salad. Both salads were fresh, and since we went with the smaller size, perfect with the dip. The dip was served warm with pita chips. Very good. I had the house white wine sangria. Perfect light evening meal. However, the best part was listening to Paul Bedour. Awesome voice and excellent guitarist!!

  • Annie F.

Food was good...we always stop here when on the island. Was a bit annoyed this time by the large group of Ohio State minions who felt it necessary to take over the place. It would have been okay had they kept it down down bit...or taken down to The Mustang or Horns. Love the whitefish dip. Gorgonzola salad is fabulous. Staff is always friendly and hospitable. We will be back, of course. I'll just check for red shirts first.

Ate at the Pink Pony late in the evening after arrival on Mackinac Island. We sat indoors on the restaurant side looking out onto the water. The decor is bright, pleasant and the restaurant is clean. Our waitress was extremely nice and she was assisted by two polite runners. No issues with service at all. We had brie, apple and walnut flat bread appetizer, fish & chips with sweet potato fries, a 10oz prime rib and white chocolate coconut creme brulee. The flat bread was delicious although definitely leaning more towards a dessert than an app. The fish was great, super crisp outside but tender and flaky inside. It also had actual fish flavor and was a real filet, not a frozen mash of compressed white fish. Sweet potato fries were fine but heavily seasoned, so you won't like them if you are looking for the sweet potato flavor. The prime rib was cooked as requested and was just good but not great. Same as you could order anywhere else. Creme brulee itself was good but the coconut topping was slightly burned and would have been better without it. This place offers any type of dining setting that you want. Next door to the indoor restaurant is a more casual bar/family dining area and a waterfront outdoor patio dining. The band, music and TVs from the bar drift over to the restaurant and the tables are pretty close together though so don't expect an intimate night. Had a beer flight with dinner. At least 3-4 offerings of 4 different beer types on the menu. Plenty of variety, just don't expect the college teen waitresses to be really knowledgeable about them all. Overall a good choice although I feel it was about 10% overpriced.

We stayed 2 nights on the island at the chippewa hotel which is connected to the pink pony. The food is amazing, but a bit pricey. Definitely a special occasion dinner. We also waited for a spot to open up on the upper patio and it was worth it!

  • Cristina M.

Love the Pink pony !! Live music, on the water , great food and drinks!! The service is also great! My son left his sweatshirt there and the staff located it and sent it back to the Main land by ferry for us. They were awesome and honest !

    (5)
  • Michell T.

The view pumps my rating from 3 to 4. The food is average. The prices are high but expected since it is a tourist town. However, I thought the $3 up charge for French fries was ridiculous. For that kind of an up charge I was expecting at least a seasoned fry but no such luck.

    (4)
  • Kathy G.

I had the fish tacos and they were fantastic. I loved the ambience as well. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals as well. This was my favorite place in our week in the UP.

  • Alan K.

Service was poor waitress was slow & the food quality barely except able. If your going to pay top dollar for a meal you should get top dollar service& top quality food, this was neither. Being on vacation to enjoy an exotic get away to a beautiful Island should not be Burdened with a Bad dining experience. The food & service did not pass my wife's inspection & was a total disappointment to me. I am sure other food critics that travel to eat here will feel the same way, The Pink Pony in today's Race for a good Quality meal is a loser.

Had an excellent breakfast this morning at Pink Pony. We ordered: 1) pancakes with scrambled eggs 2) chocolate chip pancakes with ham 3) 3 egg omelette with spinach, onions, peppers and mushrooms and whole wheat toast. All dishes were well made, were flavorful and the presentation was nice. Our server, Ana, was a cheerful person.

A trip to the Island isn't complete without a visit to the Pink Pony! Rum Runner with a Gosling rum floated is my fave! The food's pretty good too!

  • Rick E.

Giving it a low score because the hostesses made us wait for 40 min just to het a beer on the deck... She must have been new. Next time order beer inside in a cup and take it outside. Other than that very nice view great beer selection inside.

    (1)
  • Chris D.

Outside seating would have been a 30 minute wait so we ate inside in the bar area. Server Madison very friendly, very helpful. Apple and goat cheese salad very good. Whitefish tacos also pretty good. Was pleasantly surprised with kids menu. Both kids had grilled cheese which came with chips or fries plus tomato basil soup plus an applesauce plus a drink. All that for $6.95. Would definitely return!

  • Linda N.

This bar is incredible. It is the perfect blend of music, great beer and a squared up staff. A must stop. We also had lunch here several times and it was always delicious. Nothing like the back deck. Maybe one of the best views on the island of the harbor.

Great way to finish out the day! Stopped here for dinner before jumping on the ferry back to Mackinaw City. I was a little worried because of the up and down reviews but after looking inside we knew this was the place we wanted to eat. Atmosphere was relaxed and our waitress was excellent. She made great suggestions and because of our timing we were able to order of the lunch menu and the dinner menu. My girlfriend ordered the whitefish tacos and they were perfect. I ordered the Michigan maple bourbon strip steak. Both were very good and came out fairly quickly. Steak was cooked exactly how I asked and the fries were good too. Overall I left happy with my meal and if I find myself on the island at mealtime again I would return for sure.

The food was great, although the service was weak. Pro tip: if it's hot out, avoid the patio. It's located right outside the hotel's laundry and is hot and smells like fresh linens!

  • Kati S.

Great patio area. Had the whitefish tacos. Really good! They let us have our dog on the patio with us. Friendly service and a nice view of the lake. I'm sure we will be back the next time we're on the island.

  • Ray C.

Could be 1 star or 5 star. I decided to be nice to the business and go 3. Food was awesome and most servers appeared to be good, but ours was awful. My wife and I placed our order and literally never had our waitress say a word to us the rest of the time. We normally are very easy to please and tip very well. We walked out frustrated and didn't even tip. Something we NEVER do. Food was really good but our waitress was just plain terrible. I'd return but I'd get a new server. We tried the island famous rum runner. Was a little strong and a bit too sweet. Pink Pony beer is basically a Oberon-Blue Moon style beer. Not bad though

  • Julia S.

Great views. Paid $30 for a filet that was overdone. Had to walk up to the wait stand and get our own water. Told the waiter and he seemed to avoid the topics, said "I'm sorry" but he didn't care. 12% tip bud. They get so many one time tourists, why care if it's not great. Wouldn't come back. Rest of the island experience was wonderful. Yesterday we hiked for 7 hours. Lake Huron is the color of a rainbow, beautiful!

This is by far, the best restaurant in the Island. Forget about Grand Hotel restaurants or any other... This is it. First, you have two options of seating available for you to choose from depending on you mood. The first one is a pub style, with high volume music and bright lights; the second is a chill, down light, indoor or lake sitting, quite one... Either way, the serve the same menu, your choice. The server was a Rumanian student, very friendly who really helped us deciding what to get. The food was delicious!!! Very well prepped and served!!! We didn't have room for dessert, so we didn't tried it, but I bet it's as good as the rest of out food. If you ask me, my dinner advise would be: the onion soup (best I had in my life) and the Maple NY strip with vegs and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. I recomend it for dinner becasue I have a better choice for lunch and also, it's a nice plan for the dusk in this no so much to do at night island.

  • John L.

One of our must do's on Mackinaw Island. We usually go later in the evening for the entertainment. Mike the guitar player is second to none. Ask him just about anything , and he will play it! Food and drinks are always great with a menu that will please everyone. Pink Pony is an iconic place that has a reputation across the country. Ask any one if they've been to the island and the first thing they'll say is "have you been to the Pink Pony"?

Love the atmosphere here. We sat at a window seat to watch the crowds go by. We had great service from a bartender. We only had appetizers but they were very good. I'd come back for dinner or just for drinks.

  • Matthew C.

We had heard all about the very famous Pink Pony and its legendary status as the place to go after sailing the Mackinac race. I think they may be leaning too heavily on that status and letting the service and food quality go down. We were planning on having a couple cocktails and appetizers then having dinner there. But after the long wait, sub par service, and poor quality of the both the drinks and the apps, we decided to keep moving. Both cocktails tasted like they were made with the cheapest mixers available and weakest well liquor they could find. See photo of the rancid limes served as garnish I both of our drinks for an indication of the quality of this restaurant. Smoked whitefish dip was nothing special served with bland store bought pita ships. Pan Fried Calamari was spicy but otherwise limp and unappetizing. it was more peppers than calamari for sure. Luckily we found lots of other dining options on the island.

Amazing fish! Their white bleurre blanc fish is wonderful. We waited about 30 minutes for a table, but they have a texting system, so you can walk around downtown rather than waiting for your table. We sat on the upper deck. We had a waterfront view with a perfect breeze. Their alcoholic drinks are smooth yet strong. Very good. For two drinks and entrees, it will cost you about $80, but worth it for a nice, delicious meal. I will definitely return.

Maple bourbon ribeye was awesome! Had a great experience. Many local beers on tap. Live music was great as well! Will come back again.

Different areas allow for casual dining, bar scene or outdoor dining which is nice. Food choices are pretty standard for area. Ordered burger and pretzels sticks for apps. Lots of drink choices!

My husband and I ate here with my parents. We sat outside by the water. We all had sandwiches and split two soups. Everything was good. It wasn't the best food I've ever had, but I can truly say I enjoyed it. Roni was a great server. It's not the cheapest place you could eat, but the prices are reasonable compared to other places on the Island. We would definitely go back.

Good food, friendly bartender, however prices reflect the inflation common to the rest of the island.

Very basic menu but the appetizers and food are great! The baked Brie apple flat bread is a must! Enjoyed and sunny day on the deck with drinks and appetizers! I had a burger with fries and it was awesome! My husband lived his party melt with home made fries too!

We loved the Pink Pony! Wait was about 15 min on a Saturday night for late dinner (7:45). They have 3 dining areas: bar, outdoor deck, and restaurant. The bar looked nice but was really loud. Outdoor seating looked right out over the water and included heaters for chilly nights. We sat in the restaurant dining area. It was really nice with large windows that look out over the water. Decor was fancy and suitable for family or celebratory events. This space had a great view of the water without having to eat outside. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich for $12 + $3 for a side of fries. We split this between 2 people which was perfect because the portions are large. It was so good! Definitely recommend this meal. We also ordered drinks which were about $9 each which was expensive but we expected that. They were so good though! Worth it. Overall, Pink Pony has a great atmosphere and aesthetic. Dress code ranged from dresses to shorts & flip flop casual. A little pricey but normal for the touristy island. The food was very good and worth the expense. We will be back! *Also note that if you want to make a reservation, you have to call before 6pm

Slow service and a free kiddie show! I was informed by both my mother and father that on a recent trip they took to Mackinaw Island that this was a really good place to eat at and that they had a good time here. Upon arriving to the island shortly before 5pm my spouse and I were hoping to be able to get a meal before our ghost tour the same evening on the island. After arriving at the restaurant I was told by the wait staff that there was a 20 minute wait to sit inside but that the back patio was wide open for seating. So I made my way around through the restaurant and out to the back patio only to find the hostess nowhere in sight. After standing there looking like a dummy I demanded on of the servers running around to locate the hostess. They pointed her out and she was leaning over the patio fence having a full blown conversation with some random person. I walked over and interruptedly in a stern voice and asked if she was going to seat us as there was now a line of 8 other guests standing behind me also. We were seated shortly thereafter and I thought by ordering a drink it would come out quickly. HUGE mistake, I waited 20 minutes to receive my can of beer. I mean how hard is it to open a can and bring it to the table, hell, just give me the can and I'll save the waiters the trouble of opening it. And then to top it off, imagine trying to sit down and have a nice dinner and you have little kids running around between the tables on the patio to get to the pool/spa which is like 20 feet away. Who wants to look at children running rampant around while they eat along with breasts and butts slipping out of swimsuits. NO THANKS! This place could become the next pedophiles paradise. After leaning over myself an asking another family at the table next to us how long they had been there, he had stated they ordered their food over an hour ago. WHAT!!! Needless to say we didn't even have time to eat anything except for sharing a cup of soup. **Overall this place has TERRIBLE service and I would suggest steering well clear. They tried to say that a wedding party caused the food back-up in the kitchen for the entire restaurant. If that's the case next time ask the bride if she minds footing my bill too!

Located within the Chippewa Hotel at the far end of Main Street, the Pink Pony Bar offers indoor seating and a bar. But the star of the show? Their outside patio seating, which offers great views of Lake Huron. They've got an outdoor bar as well so feel free to grab a cocktail! And in the afternoon, you'll often find someone singing coffee shop tunes. But beware, I realized that the GF was staring daggers at me for being so entranced! But let's get back to the food! Smoked Whitefish Dip ($12.95) Smoked Mackinac Island whitefish, cream cheese, garlic, seasoned pita chips Whitefish is definitely one of the more highlighted ingredients on Mackinac Island so we had to start off with some smoked whitefish dip. The tortilla chips were freshly fried and were the perfect vessel for the smoky, creamy dip. The horseradish provided a nice kick to balance the smokiness. White Fish Tacos ($12.95) Pan-seared whitefish, cilantro cabbage, lime chipotle vinaigrette, avocado aioli, tortilla chips, fresh salsa Going along with the whitefish theme, I had to get the whitefish tacos. The fish was meaty, yet flaky. The lime-chipotle was more of an aioli and provided some brightness along with the spicy salsa. I was expecting tortilla chips, but actually got freshly fried potato chips, which I appreciated more! Sante Fe Wrap ($11.95) Grilled chicken, fire roasted corn and black beans, tomatoes, lettuce, tortilla strips, pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, sun-dried tomato tortilla The GF went with the Santa Fe wrap which was hearty and filled with roasted corn, black beans, and juicy grilled chicken. The chipotle mayo and the pepper jack added a nice piquancy to the dish. The crispy tortilla chips helped to heighten the textures as well. Overall, if you're looking for a quick bite and someone dishes that highlight whitefish, look no further than Pink Pony Bar & Grill. And be sure to get a seat on the patio to enjoy the nice breeze and some tunes.

Dined here for lunch in June 2015 and it was a GREAT choice! We enjoyed lunch on the patio right on the lake which is a nice area. Food was awesome, customer service was good, and the atmosphere was great!

The atmosphere and view is nice...but the food is subpar for the price. Entrees are around 20 dollars but consist of almost no food. The beer is ridiculously expensive. Also, DO NOT eat breakfast here (there are many better places on the island - for taste and value). The bar does fill up at night, but is most fun when wedding groups come to drink. The best part about Pink Pony is their singer...he is outstanding!

  • Rachel W.

Came here on a very busy weekday during the Yacht race, lots of people and everyone was hungry. Opted to eat inside rather than wait for the patio. Service was quick and we enjoyed our drinks (try the Pink Pony Punch). Even took home a six-pack of Pink Pony Ale. We wished we could have visited the bar area, it was very busy and everyone looked to be enjoying themselves. This is a must-stop place for at least a drink while you're on the Island!

  • R. L.

Don't bother. This place has several different seating areas and 1 kitchen, so expect an extremely long wait (to be seated and while you're seated). I dine out very often and this is definitely the worst wait I've experienced... and while they're not even busy. Gosh I wish the island had decent food or that the business people cared about quality. The food is junk. A gluten free friend asked for something off the kids menu, but the waitress said he had to be 12... what? The point of the kids menu is so people don't have to pay a ton for huge portions/options that kids won't eat. What does it matter if an adult eats and pays for some chicken strips? The wait staff can't think. Also- they were out of several things on the menu... and this was on memorial day weekend. You would think they would be stocked and ready to start the season by now. Nope. The place at night is just as bad. Is there only bar service and no wait staff? The live music is the only good thing.

    (1)
  • Ritika K.

This 5 star review is for their amazing live music on weekends and Bloody Mary's. I did not eat any thing here but the drinks and live performance were enough to bring me back two nights in a row. It is the most happening place on the island. The service was good on one night and pretty bad on the second night but I couldn't care less because the live performance was mesmerizing that we easily spent 4 to 5 hours here sipping our cocktails.

We dined on the patio, which was a great atmosphere. (minus the families in the jacuzzi, lol). Surprising good food. The fish tacos were quite good. Food service was a bit slow, but they seemed pretty busy. Minimal wait outside, which was surprising to me, I think it is a bit unknown as the entrance is through the normal Pink Pony. Still trying to explain to my son what Pony Wings are. haha.

A trip to the island is not complete without a drink on the Pony patio. Evenings are fun with live music (Myk Rise is always great) in the bar. The view is spectacular - overlooks the marina and the Arnold Line dock. The food is pretty good, I've always enjoyed the fresh seafood selections like whitefish. Another great thing about this place is the bathrooms are in the hotel lobby so they are large and clean and nice (not always the case in bars right?).

We went here for dinner and were seated by the windows with a wonderful view. The server Jen was very friendly and attentive but managed to get my order wrong twice. I wanted the herbed crusted white fish. The first time I was served the fish and chips and the second time I was served the broiled white fish. I didn't bother to send it back the second time. The ribs were good and fell off the bone.

The Pink Pony is hands down one of the best restaurants on the island. We stayed for 6 days and ate here twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both visits were exceptional all around. The service was great both times. For dinner, the Whitefish dip was a perfect starter. The burger had a perfect combination of flavors. I love their branding. This was the only place on the island that we visited that really paid attention to detail. The beverage napkins, plastic kid cups, kids' menus, and even the rug at the entrance were branded with The Pink Pony. The restaurant was very clean with great decor. It wasn't like many other places on the island that have beer ads up all over the walls. The live music at night was also nice. It wasn't too loud and seemed to be music anyone could enjoy.

We stopped in upon arrival at the Island while waiting for the next shuttle to our hotel. The whitefish dip made a good starter. Hubs had the pulled pork sandwich with homemade chips and I had the broiled whitefish (yes, I love my local fish options!). Both were tasty. Since it was late afternoon, between meals for most folks, it wasn't busy or noisy. Service was good. We would definitely return.

Fish tacos are subpar. Tortilla is too big. The fish is too small and slathered in some green sauce. The salsa is almost frozen. The Santa Fe wrap is ok. The beer is good. Will not come back :(

First: Kyle was our waitperson at breakfast on the deck was AWESOME! He never lost a beat in dealing with five rowdy women playing hooky from work. He knew when to stay and chat and when to get the food going. Second: OUTSTANDING Bloody Marys. Spicy and delicious. Third: What a great view from the deck! Perfect weather and a freighter sliding into view just made it even better.

We had dinner on a Monday night. No line.. The food was amazing. We had the prime rib and stuffed chicken breast. The spinach and bacon app with pita chips was also a big hit. The server was awesome and we stayed for three hours sipping on wine. Simply amazing food! Could eat their daily.

This place is quite big, so many options for seating. We sat on the back deck overlooking the marina and bay and enjoyed the live music at the bar below. Service was good, great local wine selection. The whitefish sandwich and pulled pork sandwich are very yummy and their homemade chips are delish! Great place to relax and enjoy a beautiful view after touring the island.

i usually have the french dip sandwich and fries at this place and it's usually WONDERFUL. however, just two days ago when i was there i had a very different experience. the meat in the sandwich was full of fat and gristle. also, they had live music in the bar (the next room over) which would not be a problem but this guys mic was turned up quite loud and it was terrible having to listen to him as well as the other music that was pumped in through the speakers in the room i was in. really?! it was a sunday afternoon...why wasn't it more relaxing and enjoyable? sadly it was TOO loud and obnoxious.

The highlight of our trip to Mackinac Island was the Pink Pony by succeeding at everything they are trying to be. Went there twice in two days; for dinner one night then closed the place for drinks the next. We loved the musician up behind bartenders playing requests from his guitar. I had the smoked whitefish appetizer and the chicken caesar salad and both were excellent! A bit pricey but you're on Mackinac Island on Main St so nothing I didn't already expect. What a great atmosphere at night; full of fun people, good drinks and just plain fun and THE place to be at night if you don't hit a local place like The Mustang. I gave it 5 stars because everything was perfect while there and a place I will definitely go again when back and will recommend it to everyone. We both loved it!!!

  • Kaitie D.

One of the more enjoyable places I stopped by while on Mackinac Island, the Pink Pony is a good choice for solid food and drinks. It is a bit overpriced, but so is almost everything on the island, so it's no worse value than any of the other similar places. The Gorgonzola Salad was really good, as was the French Dip. The white fish dip didn't impress us, but was still decent. Great atmosphere with live music and a livelier crowd. There can be a wait at certain times of day, but in our experience it wasn't too long.

Horrible food!!!!! Don't waste your time or money!!!! Beautiful patio area though! ordered their burgers and they were both cooked rare at best when asked for well. The outside of them were the consistency of a hockey puck, actually crunchy and the inside was rare. Not appetizing.

  • Ted C.

The focus here is fun... I like the fact that its on the water. Now this place looks bigger from the boat as you come into the dock. I could hear live music coming from that area so I knew I wanted to be there. I got the spinach artichoke bacon dip I think... it was great. It had a crunchy crumb topping to it and it was served with these toasted pita points. I really thought it was well done. I grabbed the fish and chips and it was a beer batter with homemade tartar sauce for $20 bucks. Before you scream tourist trap think quality and experience. I had a great experience here and didn't mind paying for the view and the great food... the service -- although very busy -- was very attentive. This is a popular place. The deck is a lot smaller once you set foot on it. Be careful you don't sit under the stairs or you will get blasted from the dryer that is constantly running. I thought I could handle it at first and then I asked the greeter to move me after about ten minutes. They did -- and I had a great time there.

We were staying at the Chippewa hotel so I experienced this place twice. First time I was just grabbing a beer at the outside patio bar to go chill with in the hot tub. Prompt service with a smile. No problem there. We woke up the next morning and decided to get breakfast here. Seated promptly, waiter took about 10 minutes to show up though. We ordered drinks and breakfast then he disappeared. Literally. Never saw him anywhere again. We waited another 15 minutes and I finally asked a busboy if he could get the waiter to bring our drinks out. Another 5 minutes go by and then some other guy comes out with the wrong drinks. I know a trend when I see one, so by that point we opted to just up and leave. Go to the bar outside if you want a quiet place to chill. Avoid the restaurant at all costs.

Bartender acknowledged our arrival and told us to sit at a table that he nodded to. It was myself, my brother, and his 2 children. It took a while to get someone to recognize that we were sitting there and when the hostess finally did come over to greet us she was less than courteous/borderline rude. The waiter took forever to come over and get our order and I felt like he was much too good for us; it was beneath him to wait on us. UGH. The food was actually quite good but I won't be back again. I was there on Sept.29, 2013 so I realize it's the end of the season but seriously people? Sad.

Spending a few days on Mackinac Island for a business conference was enjoyable. However, even though I was spending the company's money I still felt this place was overpriced for the food that was served. The service was really slow and the employees seemed to be enjoying each others company rather than serving the customers.

I came for lunch, and so I am only reviewing for that experience. I didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife, which looked like it could potentially be a good time at the Pink Pony. The atmosphere felt like a 30-year old's spring break vacation, and I didn't hate the vibes. The place was poppin'! After jumping off a ferry from St. Ignace, we noticed that we were rounding lunchtime and conveniently located near several restaurants with patios overlooking the docks We opted for this restaurant with two levels of outdoor, patio seating. It was a beautiful day during the annual Mac Island sailboat race. Timing couldn't have been better! I would say that our favorite part of lunch at the Pink Pony was the service. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer, and she was working extremely hard to provide excellent service to the very busy station she was running. She was very apologetic when our food took over 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen, and we appreciated the fact that she provided us with a complimentary basket of homemade potato chips to keep us busy while we waited too long for our food. The Pink Pony offers typical bar fare, nothing crazy. Off course, they offer the standard UP whitefish sandwich, which looked well-made with fresh fish. I ordered a chicken burger with garlic aioli with a side of sweet potato fries. Maybe I filled up on chips too much, but I didn't feel like finishing the chicken burger. It wasn't that tasty. However, I did clean up all my sweet potato fries. Come here for a beer, some grub, and a view of the docks. But don't expect too much from the food department. It's really the outdoor environment that makes this establishment worth visiting. If it's rainy? Fill up on fudge from Murdick's down the street instead...

Interesting stop on the island. We just wanted booze. When the bar staff heard we didn't need food just drinks the tone changed. Not bad just realizing we weren't going to stay a long time. Prices were good. Alcohol even better. Not a bad place to spend some time drinking.

Ate lunch on the patio overlooking the dock and Bay Area. Food was good but drinks were great! This is the first bar that I have found that makes a very good Dark and Stormy. Handicapped accessibility was acceptable but not directly through the bar. You had to walk around the side of the building around the hot tub to get to the patio. It wasn't an issue just not very convenient.

OK -- you already know you're going to be paying island prices, but we didn't think the mark-up was too bad at the Pony. They keep their beer prices more than reasonable so don't shy away from ordering a pint for $5.00. I had the surf and turf. The filet was cooked medium rare, as requested, and the fish was really good, too. My dining companion had the white fish and said it was awesome. The only downside was the parmesan mashed potatoes. While definitely home made, I thought they could have used some more cheese. And now I sound fat. Our server, Brent, was definitely on-top of his game even though it was a slower night. He cracked a few jokes and checked on us regularly to make sure everything was good. I also saw a young woman who I assume is the manager checking on tables, including ours. Always a good sign. At night, they have live music behind the bar. Kind of a neat set-up and worth checking out.

My group stopped here after the zoo-de-mac bike ride. The food here is pretty solid. They serve a twist on bar food with a focus on the local whitefish. I had the whitefish dip appetizer and the fish and chips. Both were good. We were really impressed with the way they handled the swarming bike crowd. Most of the restaurants had really long waits, but the PP had opened several auxiliary dinner areas and beefed up the staff for the event (not their first rodeo). The wait staff were all very friendly and the food came quickly considering the crowd. I would definitely recommend coming here on a busy night for a quick bite.

The view was nice and the service was okay but the food was terrible. We heard the whitefish spread was so good and when it arrived the pita chips were all practically burned and the spread tasted fishy - it was terrible. Then our food came - I got the whitefish which was just okay and my grandma had the ribs which weren't very good either. She got a martini and it was $11 for the drink and an extra $2 for ice. What! I was very disappointed at the whole experience.

I'll make this short and sweet. The restaurant view was pretty and a nice break from the sweltering heat. And the server was nice. But the food was gross especially the boneless chicken wings--would love to know how to make a wing boneless. I am confident that they got frozen nuggets and dipped it into some flaming hot hot sauce and baked it. It was so gross and salty and you could hardly eat it. I understand what spicy should taste like given that I'm from California and I've had every type of spicy cuisine. But what they put in that chicken wing (a boneless one, mind you), was just ridiculous, bordering inedible. Proceed with caution as I'm sure there is something there that is tasty. I'm sorry that I can't write a review on something that was delicious.

Wow! This was not my first visit to the Pink Pony, but it was certainly a memorable one! Our food was absolutely excellent, including the generous kids' meals. My husband ordered the beurre blanc whitefish and I had the boursin stuffed chicken. Both were really delicious. I was also impressed with their draft beer list, including many wonderful Michigan beers. Superb wait staff and lovely decor. It's really a treat to eat here after a full day on the island!

GREAT location for a drink on the patio! Lemonade specialty drink was very good as was the Mojito, at least the first visit. Went back later same day and in all fairness they were have power outage issues so service and drinks suffered. But don't take my order for something you can't deliver. just tell a person and they will understand. Also please make sure bartenders know how to make a drink that is ordered. It is better than being charged for a drink that is terribly sub par. Live music was a nice touch.

Kinda a dressy casual atmosphere, we had a nice meal out on the back porch overlooking the little harbor. A bit of an early dinner. We got to even see some sea otters playing in the water! I had a salad that was delicious and hubby got a burger. Staff was attentive and friendly considering the amount of people there. I had heard their service can be bad, but we lucked out with a great waitress. I also tried one of their signature drinks, the Lilac Festival Lemonade and it was pretty delicious! Nice to try but get out and try some of the other places too!

I pondered whether this would be a 4-star or 5-star review and in the end could not think of one reason why this joint would be a 4. Everything was faboo from location to service to food to atmosphere. It was all stellar! We had arrived to the island and were meandering main street for a cool place for a late dinner. So glad we chose this place. The french onion soup was quite possibly the best I have ever had. Not sure what the husband had because I was so into the soup that nothing else around me mattered. Not sure he was thrilled about that since it was our honeymoon but he quickly forgave me after I gave him a bite, albeit a tiny one. Service was fast and friendly. Extra high five to the waitress for recommending the french onion soup. Beers were a decent price and the music was great. The crowd was fun and the prices reasonable. What more could one ask for? Oh I know...I should've asked if the ship french onion soup to Hawaii.

View from the patio of the harbor is great. The food is very good, not exceptional. The steak risotto was one of the better things on the menu. Music from the lower bar was kind of loud on the patio and not always in symphony with the view or restaurant eating. They might want to redirect some speakers and work on the sound bleed. Service relative to our other stops on the island was a bit above average but not stellar. If I had a short-list of restaurants to hit over a weekend, it might miss it, but over the week it would certainly be worth a stop in. Personally I would go to the bar out on the lower deck, get a drink and some appetizers, which they do well, and either make that dinner or find someplace else to eat.

We visited Pink Pony for lunch with some friends while exploring the island. I ordered a side caesar salad an the Honey Apple Brie flatbread. The salad was very good, but the flatbread left me wanting a bit. It was cold and the flatbread itself tasted more like a stale cracker. The flavors were pretty good, but it was still a miss. Overall, we received great service and the atmosphere was ok. Nothing to write home about.

This was a nice change of pace after eating HORRIBLE food up here for weeks! The service was good, the food was pretty delicious and the drinks were spectacular. The ambience wasn't great, crowded and noisy with a live band pounding over the sound system but it was worth it try at least once.

After a long day walking my family and I stopped in to have dinner. We liked the menu, and the service for us was terrific. Great staff. I ordered the whitefish. It came out too salty and peppered to eat. It truly was uneatable. This was the only negative. The Bloody Mary's are spicy and great. The prime rib, shrimp skewers and French dip (that the rest of the family had) were great. We started with calamari which was spicy (we like that) and was really fresh. I would try the place again. The whitefish is why I am only giving this 3-stars. They didn't take it off my bill. Just gave us a free desert (which was good too).

Was there around 11pm 8/1/13 with another couple. Great bartender!! 2-man band that are very good, play old, mostly folksy kinda music, played excellent version of the Beatles "Birthday" song--not an easy song to play. Had a fun time!!

My husband and I took our two sons (infant and a toddler) to this restaurant on 09/07/2013 (lunch time) and were greeted with a forced greeting from the woman behind some kind of podium (the one wearing a bun and a neon orange blouse) With an arrogant tone towards us, she told us it would be a 25-minute wait, but there were tons of empty tables. Still, we ended up waiting outside the restaurant and finally we were called to come into the dinning area. With two babies seated in two different (small) strollers, we were asked to leave our belongings outside the restaurant because "there was no room" inside. Boloney. There was room. And plenty of it. My husband requested the table near the entrance. Another lady hostess hesitated at first until she finally allowed us to sit at the table we requested. There was plenty of room and we were able to bring our two strollers inside with us, place them in a corner next to our table. The family sitting next to us also had a huge bulky stroller, so why were we asked to leave our belongings outside the restaurant? The server was pleasant. The food was ok. Overpriced for what they have on their menu. And we were able to bring in our two strollers. I think the attitude from the hostess needs to be adjusted just a tad. We probably will not return to this restaurant. Actually, scratch that, we will not return. There are plenty of other restaurants on the island. Be warned!

To be fair, I have only been here once and just got the fish and chips to go. But I thought the fish and chips were too greasy. If fried food is too greasy, it makes me think the cook doesn't know how to fry food properly. They served such huge pieces of fish and chips that made it difficult to eat. The tartar sauce was good. I really was not impressed with the food and probably would not go back.

Who doesn't love pink ponies doing the can-can?! This is painted on the wall behind the bar and the tiny stage for live music. When we were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat, we could not pass this place up. Once seated we got some drinks, him a beer and I got the Pink Pony Punch. This is deadly delicious! It has Dragonberry, Peach Schnapps and Lemonade in it. A couple of these and you could end up sleeping in the booth you sit in. I got a cup of the Tomato Soup with half a turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. At first she brought me out regular fries, but I was sure to tell her that that was not what I ordered. She came back with a plate full of sweet potato fries. Soup was very good, loved how it was topped with cheese croutons. The sweet potato fries were good, but they don't give you anything to dip it in. I like sweet potato fries on their own, but it is always nice to see what sauces they pair up with it. I didn't eat the turkey sandwich, but it had Swiss cheese, tomato and lettuce on it. Husband had the fish tacos. They were quite fishy and he didn't like them. The slaw inside the tacos was good though. The salsa that came with them didn't had much spice, but was fresh. Decor was fun, food was pretty good, drinks were great.

Great bar to have some drinks during trip to Mackinac Island. Bartender made us some great shots and they had live music. Great evening!

We stopped in here hungry, thirsty, and worn out from biking on the island. I liked the ambience of the place immediately. Nice long bar, and plenty of seating. Looked like a fun place. The menu wasn't huge, but I ended up ordering whitefish tacos and was not disappointed. Delicious, seared whitefish with some avocado aolio(sp?) garnished in cabbage. Loved it. Also ordered an ice tea. No drinking with all the cycling we still had planned. The Negative- everything took way too long. Even the iced tea. They were busy, clearly, and good for them. Not good for me. It didn't ruin my day, and I still loved the tacos, but the wait was terrible. 3 stars, four if the wait times would have been less.

It did the trick... Every time I have done the Mac race, first thing we do when tying up is head to the Pink Poney to tie one on. Nice ambiance, great drinks and after a few days on a boat in the middle of Lake Huron with a bunch of guys, it was sooo nice to have a cold one amongst other non-smelly people.

My wife and I have been here twice on seperate vacations to the island. Both times the food here was exceptional. This recent trip we shared a spinach salad, risoto, and pork tenderloin. All of it was great but the risoto was worth going back for the next day. They have a great casual atmosphere and the deck overlooking the harbor is really pretty especially at sunset. When we were there in the evening they had a DJ playing music and I really enjoyed that, but not sure if they do it every night or not. If you want quiet fancy dining go to the grand hotel or the carriage house. If you want good, unique, food go here. The air from the harbor is a nice treat.
